Ephemeral Lines
Every day the tide draws lines in the sand as it pulls water back to the ocean. Waves roll in, the water foaming and bouncing up the beach with chaotic energy. Energy spent, the water stops before feeling the tug of the world beneath and pulled back precipitously by gravity drawing lines through the sand.
The next tide smooths away these lines before replacing them with its own particular lines. Three or four times a day the lines are erased and redrawn as new. Each tide and its lines are gone forever, replaced, sometimes alike but never the same.
